Foreword to the special issue ‘Organic livestock farming: conditions and potential for development’

Abstract

Following a summary of the major changes that have occurred over the last 15 years in terms of regulation, public policies, production, consumption and research in the field of organic farming (OA), this foreword presents the contents of this special issue devoted to organic livestock farming. The articles, most of which are based on work carried out by INRAE and its collaborators as part of programs dedicated to OA, analyse the conditions and development potential of organic livestock farming from a technical, economic and organisational insights.
